NonFiction Respone on "Imagining 2014" Upfront Magazine

The science fiction article "Imagining 2014'' is about a science fiction writer Isaac Asimov who predicted what 2014 would be like in a 1964 New York Times article 50 years ago, most of his predictions were correct he thought that there would be video calls ( like skype, oovoo and facetime)
3-d movies, mini computers, e-readers and GPS.

Not only did he predict the future technology but he also predicted the world current challenges correctly, like over-population and that were running out of the Earth's resources.  Isaac Asimov died in 1992, he thought that problems liked these would lead to "a single choked manhattan" by 2450 but he says "society will collapse long before that", this quote makes me wonder what will happen to make society collapse in the next 400 years.

Isaac, got many things wrong though. He thought that in 2014  we would have underwater cities, flying cars, and moon colonies.

I found this article interesting because, I think its cool how he looked 50 years into the future, and most of the things that he predicted came true. This article makes me think about how far we've come in 50 years, with technology but at the same time we didn't come that far because we loss resources and there's way more global warming going on now than there was then.

While reading this article I wondered how advanced will be in technology by 2054 in the next 50 years. I also wonder what resources will lack and how bad global warming will be. Maybe in the next 50 years, the predictions Isaac Asimov got wrong will come true like the flying cars , moon colonies and the underwater cities.
